Rocket Club Math – Upper West Side

Rocket Club Math is a boutique math enrichment program located at 522 Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side, offering personalized, small-group instruction for students from Pre-K through 7th grade. The program is built around the belief that ages 3–10 are the critical window when children form their identity as math learners.

Each session runs two hours, once per week on a consistent dedicated day, with a 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio ensuring meaningful individual attention. Instructors craft personalized lesson plans drawing on Common Core, Singapore Math, and Russian Math methods, aligned with NYSED standards and benchmarks from NYC public and private schools. The curriculum was developed with input from licensed teachers and specialists with degrees from Columbia, UNC, and Harvard.

Learning is gamified through a "Rocket Fuel" points system — students earn points for their work and can spend them at the on-site Rocket Fuel Store. There is no mandatory homework, though optional take-home projects offer opportunities to earn additional Rocket Fuel. Parents receive a weekly progress report and monthly assessments. Make-up classes are available if a child misses a session. Test prep support for ISEE, SSAT, and NY State exams is also available. Memberships are month-to-month, and new families are offered a complimentary math diagnostic. A tour and application are required prior to enrollment.
