Penguin City Swim is one of Manhattan's most highly regarded swim schools, founded by Gordon Miles in 2013. Known for professional instructors, small class sizes, and warm pools maintained at 86°F, the school offers year-round swim lessons for all ages — from babies as young as 6 months to adults.
Programs include Water Babies (ages 6–23 months, parent & me), Aqua Tots (up to 36 months, parent & me), Small Group lessons capped at 3–4 swimmers, Semi-Private, Private, Swim Team Clinics, and Adult/Masters lessons. Swimmers progress through named levels from "Little Blue" (infants) to "Emperor" (adult intermediate), earning certificates at each stage.
Penguin City Swim operates on a rolling admission model with monthly billing — students can start and stop at any time. Locations in Manhattan include the flagship at 132 E 45th St (Midtown East), John Jay College (524 W 59th St), and the Moise Safra Center (130 E 82nd St, members only). A Riverdale location is also available at 3220 Arlington Ave in the Bronx.
