The Queens Library Flushing Branch is one of the most active branches in the entire Queens Library system, serving the diverse Flushing community with an exceptional range of free programs for children of all ages. The branch is home to the largest children's room in the Queens Library system, making it a standout destination for families.
For the youngest visitors, the branch offers the Toddler Learning Center (TLC), a five-workshop series for children 18–38 months and their caregivers, covering speech development, early literacy, nutrition, and gross motor skills. The Kickoff to Kindergarten (K2K) program supports ages 3–5 with a 7-week early literacy curriculum offered with Mandarin and Spanish translation support. Multilingual storytimes are held regularly in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali, Russian, and Polish. School-age kids can access QPL Homework Help on weekday afternoons, and teens have a dedicated Teen Center with crafts and programming.
All programs and library entry are completely free. The branch is open on Sundays, which is relatively rare in the system, and features free Wi-Fi, computer workstations, a 24-hour book drop, and a large multilingual collection. It is easily accessible via the 7 train to Flushing–Main St.
