Pier 25

Tribeca
Stroller-friendlyOutdoorFree admission

Pier 25 is one of the most loaded free outdoor destinations in New York City for families. Jutting nearly 1,000 feet into the Hudson River in Tribeca, it packs a water playground, mini golf, beach volleyball, a skate park, a turf field, a basketball court, and jaw-dropping views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island all onto one pier.

The playground is a standout — famous for its giant water-dump buckets and sprinkler zone that turn any summer afternoon into a full splash session. Shaded seating nearby means parents can sit and relax. Restrooms are located right at the West Street entrance.

Mini golf here is Manhattan's only 18-hole outdoor course, run by Manhattan Youth. It's a legit 13,000-square-foot layout with waterfalls, a pond, sand traps, and a cave — not a cheesy tourist trap. No reservation needed; just show up. A seasonal snack bar on the pier keeps everyone fueled. The historic steamship LILAC docks on the north side of the pier, adding a unique landmark to the experience.
