JCPenney Portraits is a national chain of professional portrait studios located inside JCPenney stores, offering one of the most accessible and affordable options for NYC families who want professional photos without the $500+ independent photographer price tag. The Bay Plaza Mall location in the Bronx serves families across the borough with sessions for newborns, baby milestones, children, and family portraits.
Sessions are easy to understand: you pay a low session fee ($14.99 per person for a standard session) to get in the door, then choose which images and products you want to purchase after the shoot. Standard sessions run about 45 minutes total with 15 minutes of camera time; extended sessions ($24.99 add-on) offer 30 minutes in the camera room and are required for newborns and large groups. Digital images start at $59.99, and a full digital album is $184.99 regular price — though current promotions can significantly reduce that cost. The Perks Club membership ($39.99 for two years) includes unlimited free session fees and other perks, making it worthwhile for families who plan to return.
