Cancer Support Community Greater NY & CT at Gilda's Club (formerly Gilda's Club Westchester) is a free, nonprofit community support center for anyone impacted by cancer — including children, teens, and their families. Located in White Plains, Westchester, it is best suited for NYC families in the Bronx, upper Manhattan, or those with Metro-North access.
Their dedicated Children, Teens and Families (CTF) program provides age-appropriate group support through programs like Kids Cancer Connection, social events, and activities designed specifically for young people whose lives have been touched by cancer. Individual and family counseling with an Oncology Social Worker is also available, as are school-based programs and a Youth Committee for high school students.
Members have access to over 30 types of support groups including living with cancer, living with loss, caregiver support, breast cancer, post-treatment, and men's groups. Bereaved families are explicitly welcomed. Programming is available in-person, by telephone, and some groups are held offsite with clinical partners. All services are completely free of charge, and Spanish-language services are available.
