Brooklyn High Low is a beloved afternoon tea destination on Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Drawing from both Low Tea and High Tea traditions, the salon serves guests a triple-tier plate stand filled with freshly baked scones, crumpets, finger sandwiches, and house-made desserts, paired with a curated selection of over 20 teas — from lavender earl grey blends to green tea jasmine.
The space itself is a feast for the eyes: owner Honey Moon has decorated the vintage parlor with a chandelier made of teacups, velvet chaise lounges, old champagne buckets repurposed as planters, and kooky lamps in every corner. A garden space provides a more relaxed, open-air setting — especially popular with families. Guests choose from three experience tiers: The Classic, The Vanderbilt, and The Heights, each progressively more filling.
Families with young children are warmly welcomed — staff are known to provide plastic tableware and small utensils for toddlers, and the garden is particularly recommended for families due to its more spacious layout. Dietary accommodations including vegetarian and gluten-free options are available with at least 48 hours' notice. A private room is available for baby showers and intimate celebrations for groups of 20–25.
Note: Between April 1 and November 1, Vanderbilt Open Streets closes the avenue in front of the salon to car traffic, making stroller access especially easy but requiring extra time to find parking nearby.
