The Alley Pond Adventure Course is New York City's only public ropes course, operated by NYC Urban Park Rangers inside Alley Pond Park in Queens. Built by Project Adventure — one of the country's leading ropes course builders — the course features 20 high and low elements including a zip line, climbing and bouldering wall, trust fall station, swings, nets, leaps, and balance platforms. High elements take place on cables suspended 45 feet in the air with full safety gear provided.
Free public programs run on Sundays for anyone ages 8 and older, on a first-come, first-served basis. Morning sessions run 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (registration 9:30–10:00 a.m.) and afternoon sessions run 1:00–3:00 p.m. (registration 1:00–1:30 p.m.). Arrive at least 30 minutes early as space is limited. Free Sunday programs are available through October 25, 2026, weather permitting.
Schools, camps, and youth groups can book full-day or overnight weekday programs for groups of up to 30 participants. All programs are guided by trained and certified NYC Urban Park Rangers facilitators and can be tailored to recreational, educational, or developmental goals. The course is fully accessible with activities for all ages and physical abilities. Closed-toe shoes are required — no sandals, flip flops, or open-toed shoes.
